Large Wall Graphics

As of late we have been working on several large wall graphics for Chase Design Group out of Los Angeles. Here is one of the many renderings for the project:

Each wall is 18ft wide and 9ft high… we have sourced an amazing adhesive backed wallpaper material that is extremely easy to apply and is repositionable… this will allow for an easy install on each of these, which are broken into 6 vertical panels…

POVevolving & The Hammer Museum

We’ve been assisting our talented friend Ed Glendinning with on-site color management and proofing for a Hammer Museum catalog shoot. We are working on a fully color managed workflow that starts with a Phase One camera tethered to a Macbook Pro with an Eizo external monitor… We are bringing each image into Capture One, working a little magic and then shooting the files over ethernet cable to a 27″ Imac that is connected to our Epson 3880, where we are then creating color match proofs with the original art next to us to match to…

Its quite a nice workflow. The Printer that is receiving the files for the catalog on the other side of the world is more than happy to have the confidence of knowing that the files and corresponding proof prints are not only professionally shot at super high resolution, but are corrected to the original piece and can be used to more easily create an accurate catalog…

Alexis Mackenzie – Print Set and New Editions

Tomorrow we begin production on new Alexis Mackenzie limited editions… there will be a 3 print set and, in addition, each print from the set will be offered individually. All editions are going to be a very short run.. only 15 sets of prints and only 15 of each individual print… each one will be signed and numbered by the artist.

Melinda Dahl Exhibition Prints

The current exhibition at POVevolving Gallery was printed in its entirety at the POVevolving Print Studio. The show includes a mix between rich black and white prints and vibrant color prints – all printed on 300gsm Moab Entrada Rag Bright paper…

The exhibition runs through the beginning of June.

Doze Green Prints

Just finished up some large prints for Doze Green. In a few short but busy days, we arranged to have his painting (Siddartha) photographed in a Chelsea gallery with a 22mp Hassleblad – shot in 3 pieces… then had the files transferred to us in Los Angeles… we stitched the image back together, color corrected, did epic amounts of proofing and produced 4 beatifully vibrant 30″ x 45″ prints on 250gsm Museo Max paper….

Super quick turn with great results… good times.

The POVevolving Print Studio will be producing all of the prints for the upcoming Sonny Kay exhibition at POVevolving Gallery. The show opens up on the 11th of February and is sure to be exciting with guest performances by several musicians including Cedric Bixler-Zavala of The Mars Volta…

Yosuke Ueno Prints

We are working with Japanese artist Yosuke Ueno to release a very unique edition of prints based on a painting titled Sorazora. The edition, with the initial stages of the project underway, will be produced here at the POVprint Studio. We are going to create 15 prints of his Sorazora piece to be sent to Ueno… he’s then going to work back into each of the prints ~ with a combination of paint, inks, pencils and collage elements…

In talking with Yosuke, we get the idea that he plans to pull many of the individual symbols and characters from his other works and put one, a couple, or who knows, maybe all of them into this super unique edition… Here’s some potential candidates:

In the end, each of the 15 prints in the edition will be completely different. They will all be signed and numbered and sent back across the pond to us here in LA… where we will have each of them framed and prepped for release!
